Megan was recently awarded a grant of $3500, and she was waiting to receive the check.

When she finally followed up with her college’s financial department, she discovered that the check was sent out, and it was even cashed by a bank back in April without her knowledge.

At this point, Megan knew something fishy was going on. After some time, she realized that her very own sister had stolen the check, had recorded her social security number, and forged her signature.
Lying to the Bank
Astonishingly, her sister had convinced the banker that Megan had granted her permission to cash the check, and the check was processed with no notification of any kind to her.
Past Trouble With the Law
Adding fuel to the fire, her sister was recently arrested and was on thin ice with the law.
