President Joe Biden recently faced a peculiar situation when Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy confronted him with questions about rumors involving his potential involvement in his son Hunter’s business dealings. The confrontation unfolded during a “Your World” segment on Wednesday, August 9th.
Doocy began by acknowledging that President Biden had not yet been questioned about the allegations surrounding his son’s business activities.
Doocy Was Invited to Ask Questions
Invited to an event where he was requested to ask questions, Doocy inquired about a specific claim made by one of Hunter’s former business associates, Devon Archer.
Why Was Biden Listening?
Archer testified that Hunter had put his father on speakerphone during business meetings, raising questions about the extent of the President’s involvement in his son’s endeavors.
Talking Business?
Doocy said, “There’s this testimony now where one of your son’s former business associates claims that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business. Is that what–”
The President Interrupted
President Biden quickly interrupted, “I never talked business [to] anybody, and I knew you’d have a lousy question.”
A Lousy Question
“Well, what, why is that a lousy question?” Doocy asked, to which the President replied, “Because it’s not true.”
The Allegations
The allegations centered on Hunter’s former associate Devon Archer’s claims that the President had been on speakerphone during meetings.

The incidents allegedly occurred when Biden was still the Vice President and Devon and Hunter were both members of the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.

However, Archer clarified that these conversations did not involve business-related matters; instead, they centered on the idea of influence and proximity to power.
Biden Didn’t Talk About Business
Hunter’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, further emphasized that the testimony provided by Archer demonstrated that neither Hunter nor his father engaged in business-related discussions.
The White House Responded
The White House spokesperson, Ian Sams, echoed these sentiments, reiterating that President Biden was never in business with his son.
Sams said, “No amount of Tucker Carlson’s spin and misdirection, cherry-picking innocuous niceties to try to mislead people, is going to change that, as much as I’m sure the right-wing disinformation machine wishes it could.”
