Ross couldn’t believe his luck when he finally managed to afford a brand new sectional couch, something he had always dreamed of but could never afford before. He was over the moon with his purchase.
The large sectional, with its plush leather and enticing features like a lounge and recliner, was truly a dream come true.
Paying It Forward
Wanting to get rid of his older fabric couch and loveseat, Ross decided to offer them online for free. He wanted to give someone else the opportunity to enjoy them as he once had.
A Promising Response
It didn’t take long for a response to come in. A lady expressed interest in the couches and claimed to have a truck to collect them.
Ross thought it was a perfect match – someone in need of furniture and a means to move it. Little did he know that this encounter would soon turn into a bizarre and frustrating ordeal.
The Minivan Miscalculation
The day arrived for the lady to pick up the old couches, coinciding with the scheduled delivery of Ross’s new sectional.
Everything seemed to be falling into place, at least until she showed up in a minivan that could barely accommodate the smaller loveseat, let alone the larger couch!
Chaotic Kids
Moreover, she had her kids with her, making the situation even more complicated. Ross couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, especially considering the woman had assured him she had a truck for the job.
The New Arrival
Attempting to maintain his composure, Ross engaged in a conversation with the lady.
But before he could get an answer, the furniture store’s truck arrived, carrying his brand-new sectional.
The workers began unloading the wrapped pieces, but that’s when things escalated.
Unloading Drama
In a surprising twist, the woman boldly instructed the workers not to unload the sectional but to load it back onto the truck and transport it to her house instead! Ross couldn’t believe his ears!

He firmly refused, asking the workers to proceed with taking the new sectional upstairs to his apartment while he dealt with the woman.

What followed was a heated exchange between Ross and the rude woman.

She argued that, as a single mother, she deserved preferential treatment and that her children shouldn’t have to be stuck with the “old garbage” of the older couches.

However, as tensions rose, the woman’s children emerged from the minivan and promptly added to the chaos.
They darted around, their playful antics quickly turning destructive. They ripped the plastic off the new pieces, jumped on the furniture, and spilled their drinks everywhere, including on the old set!
The Last Straw
Frustrated and reaching his breaking point, Ross gave the woman one last chance, asking if she still wanted the old couch and loveseat.
In response, she expressed disgust, claiming they were dirty and covered in sticky substances!
She demanded that Ross give her his new sectional as originally promised. Her audacity left Ross astounded and frustrated beyond belief.
Threats and Accusations
Fed up with the situation, Ross threatened to call the police to make her leave. She stormed off, shouting that she would spread false accusations about him stealing from her children!
Ross couldn’t help but roll his eyes at her ridiculous accusations, knowing they held no weight.
Assessing the Damage
As the dust settled and Ross took stock of the situation, he realized the extent of the damage caused by the lady’s children.
The day was a scorcher, and sticky drinks coated both the old and new couches. Aware of his strict building management’s policies, which prohibited leaving furniture outside, Ross found himself facing an unfortunate predicament.
An Unexpected Expense
With limited options, Ross made the difficult decision to dispose of the once perfectly good couches.
The cost of hiring someone to take them to the dump added insult to injury – an unexpected expense that left him feeling frustrated.
A Final Blow
Throughout the entire ordeal, Ross couldn’t help but wonder what had become of the lady’s own couch.
Despite the chaos and the woman’s sheer cheek, she had the nerve to message Ross again, asking when he would deliver her sectional so she wouldn’t have to call the police on him! What a joke!
