The Happy Couple
A man, aged 35, has been married to his wife, Jen, who is 30, for three years.
Before their marriage, the couple had been in a relationship for six years.
A Baby on the Way
At present, Jen is pregnant with twins and is eight months (32 weeks) along.
The man considers Jen his best friend and absolutely adores her.
One Small Thing…
He acknowledges that she has one minor flaw, which is that she is a huge workaholic and perfectionist.
Although the couple has well-paying jobs, Jen’s job is considerably more stressful and time-consuming than her husband’s.
Workaholic
Despite being brilliant and excellent at her job, Jen often works around the clock, putting in an average of 60-hour workweeks, both at home and in the office.
A Health Issue
This was not a significant issue until recently, when her doctor advised her to take a break from work due to the stress that started to cause some health problems for her, although the babies were still fine.
Unfortunately, being the workaholic she is, Jen has still been working for several hours each day on her laptop, causing her to miss meals and fall asleep at her desk.
Turning off the Power
When the man returned home from work yesterday, he discovered Jen had once again neglected to take a break, even though she had promised to do so.
After two hours of working, despite his requests, the man unplugged the Wi-Fi and put the cable out of sight.
A Furious Reaction
He only intended to cut Jen off from work on her laptop, because she clearly had no intention of stopping.
Accusations of Abuse
Jen was extremely angry with her husband and accused him of being controlling, condescending, and “borderline abusive.”
Sleeping Apart
She even slept in the guest room that night and refused to speak to her husband the next day.
The man later apologized for calling her names, but did not apologize for cutting off the internet.
Having Doubts
He is now starting to wonder if his actions were too extreme, even though he only did it out of concern for Jen, who was overdoing it by trying to meet deadlines that she was not even responsible for.
