Questions have arisen about Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell’s health after he appeared to freeze during two different public appearances. The freezes prompted an evaluation by the Capital physician Brian P. Monahan, who claimed there was nothing to be concerned about.

In a letter released by McConnell’s office, Dr. Monahan stated that there is “no evidence” of a stroke, seizure disorder, or movement disorder such as Parkinson’s disease in McConnell’s health episodes.
The Examinations
The assessments included medical evaluations like brain MRI imaging and consultations with neurologists, focusing on comprehensive neurology evaluations.
No New Treatments
These examinations also follow an incident earlier in the year when McConnell fell and suffered a concussion.
According to Dr. Monahan, there are no recommended changes in treatment as McConnell continues to recover from the concussion in March.
Cleared for Work
After the most recent freeze-up, the physician cleared McConnell to continue his planned schedule and said “There is no evidence that you have a seizure disorder or that you experienced a stroke, TIA or movement disorder such as Parkinson’s disease.”
