After agreeing to an expensive fee, Nikki retaliated with a comparable cost when her sister-in-law needed to borrow her college books. Taking the debate to the airwaves, the issue divided listeners, sparking a conversation about family expectations and financial fairness.
Baby Sitting Problem
Nikki recently shared her recent babysitting problem with Ayla from the “Country Mornings with Ayla Brown” show and asked listeners for their thoughts.
A New Arrival and Regular Sitter
Nikki explained that she just had a baby and she and her husband often hire a regular babysitter.
Just Ask Auntie
But this time, their usual babysitter wasn’t available, so instead, they decided to ask her husband’s sister to fill in.
Nikki’s sister-in-law was certainly no stranger! She was constantly hanging out at her place.
She’s Was Experienced With Littluns
And although the SIL had never watched Nikki’s child, she had a history of babysitting for other people as a side job.
They Assumed It’d Be Free
Nikki was sure that her SIL would have no problem filling in as babysitter for free since they were so friendly with each other.
But It Came at a Price
But things took a turn when she said she’d charge them $250 for the night!
And apparently, that was with a family discount.
Too Late to Find an Alternative
Nikki was completely gobsmacked, but it was late, and there wasn’t anyone else available, so she reluctantly agreed.
They Were at the Same School
A few days later, Nikki discovered that she attends the same college as her SIL.
College Books With a Hefty Price Tag
Her SIL wanted to borrow some book from her because the cost of college books was enormous.
She Saw a Chance to Get Even
Nikki saw a chance, and she took it!
Sure, but It’ll Cost You
She decided to inform her SIL that she would charge her $300 – the full cost of the books – if she wanted to borrow those books for the fall semester.
That’s Not Fair!
Her SIL was shocked and told her that she was being unreasonable.

Now, Nikki has been thinking about whether perhaps she was wrong for what she did, Now Nikki was thinking about whether she was wrong for what she did, and she asked the listeners for their thoughts.

Ayla posted a poll on Twitter asking whether Nikki was being petty, or if she was in the right.
The vote was split, with 54 percent of listeners voting that Nikki was in the right, with the rest saying that she was being petty.
