Ramaswamy’s Rapid Rise: He’s Winning Over War Veterans and Traditionalists but Critics Say He’s a ‘Polished’ Fake

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was speaking at a town hall in Hollis, New Hampshire, when a World War II veteran named David stood up, grabbed a microphone, and praised him for speaking words that remind him of what his generation “grew up in.”

David started by telling the crowd he was a “veteran of World War II.”

The crowd responded with applause, and Ramaswamy walked over and shook his hand.

David told Ramaswamy, “The words you’re saying are exactly what my generation grew up in.”

David reminisced when children and adults “stood at attention and crossed their hearts when the flag passed by in a parade.”

He said, “School started with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.”

“No Longer Going On”

The fact that “that’s no longer going on” upsets David.

He said there was more “loyalty and pride” in America when he was younger, and he can remember when children as young as 12 and 13 would leave school to “join the service to protect our country.”

Standing Ovation

David told Ramaswamy, “I like your policies. I love to hear it because it’s what I remember.”

According to David, it was “one country. America.” He concluded with, “Thank you very much,” before the crowd gave him another round of applause and a standing ovation.

Ramaswamy appeared touched by David’s kind words to him. He walked over to the World War II veteran, hugged him, and told him, “Thank you for your service to this county. It means a lot.”

One person commented, “There’s often a lot of wisdom that comes from the older generation. [David] reminds me of my grandpa.” Another person also said, “The elderly always have a powerful message for the younger generation.”

Americans like the fact that Ramaswamy wants to restore America’s Identity. One comment said Ramaswamy could “play a huge role in restoring the United States” if elected.

Lost Traditions

Other Americans want to know how America lost the traditions that David mentioned.

One 75-year-old woman remembers “waving to firemen when the trucks passed by and saying a prayer for everyone.” But “sadly,” you don’t see that very often in America anymore.

No Political Experience

Ramaswamy is a 38-year-old biotech entrepreneur who brings zero political experience to his presidential candidacy, but people like him because he reaches “many across all demographics.”

Another person compared Ramaswamy to an artificial intelligence program that generates dialogue.

This person said, “I’m sure ChatGPTVivek was very happy with that comparison. Means his programming is still working.”

At the first GOP debate, presidential candidate Chris Christie said he “had enough…of a guy who sounds like ChatGPT” in response to the young entrepreneur’s “polished talking points.”
