She’s Tired of Being Blown off by Her Husband, Thankfully She Has His Best Friend to Comfort Her!

This sad tale of relationship drama comes to us from Reddit. A woman confesses that she was feeling attracted to her husband’s best friend and explains the situation.

She’s Not Happy in Her Marriage

The original poster (OP), a 27-year-old mother and wife, is at a crossroads in her life. Her marriage has become a source of misery, and she can no longer pretend that everything is okay.

She knows that her husband loves her, but she also knows that it’s not enough. She needs more than just words; she needs actions.

The past few years have been a blur of sleepless nights, dirty diapers, and endless chores. She thinks back to the day she found out she was pregnant and how excited she and her husband were.

They had talked about starting a family for a while, but when it finally happened, it was unexpected.

A Difficult Pregnancy

OP’s pregnancy was difficult from the start. She suffered from extreme morning sickness, depression, and anxiety. Her husband was supportive and helpful, but she still felt alone.

She was scared and overwhelmed and needed more help than he could give her.

When their son was born, OP was diagnosed with postpartum depression (PPD). Her husband did his best to help her, but she still struggled.

She felt he didn’t understand what she was going through and didn’t care enough to try. She tried to talk to him about it, but he would brush it off, saying she was tired and everything would be fine.

A Stay-at-Home Mom

OP tried to keep everything together, but it was hard. She was a stay-at-home mom, and she did everything around the house. She cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and took care of their son.

Her husband worked long hours, so she understood that he was tired, but when he was home, he didn’t help out as much as she needed him to.

When he did help, he would be on his phone, scrolling through social media. OP would have to remind him to put his phone down and be present with their son. She felt like she was the only one caring for him, which was exhausting.

OP would ask her husband for reassurance, but he would brush her off. She was insecure about her post-baby body, but he barely glanced up when she asked him if he still found her attractive.

She Asked for Help but Got None

She would ask him for help with cleaning or throwing out the trash, and he would say he would do it later. But later never came, and she would end up doing it herself.

Sex was the last thing on OP’s mind. She was exhausted, and it felt like a chore.

OP would ask for a break every now and then, but her husband wouldn’t immediately attend to their son, leaving her to hurry back and pick him up. She felt like she was drowning, and her husband wasn’t there to help her.

OP tried to talk to her husband about how she was feeling, but he would gaslight her, telling her he was trying his best and that she couldn’t see it. She felt he wasn’t listening to her and didn’t care about her.

She Noticed His Best Friend

During this time, OP’s husband’s best friend, Clark, became more involved in their lives. They asked Clark to be one of their son’s godfathers, and he would come over to visit when her husband was home.

OP found herself looking forward to his visits, as he would always ask her how she was doing and if she needed any help around the house.

Clark offered to help her, to watch their son so she could get a break, and to bring her food when her husband was at work. He cared about her and their son, something her husband seemed to have forgotten how to do.

She knows it’s wrong to have feelings for her husband’s best friend, but she can’t help it. He’s shown her emotional attention, something her husband hasn’t done in a long time. He’s given her help and support, something she desperately needs.

Is It Time for Divorce?

She thinks about divorce but is financially dependent on her husband. She feels trapped like she can’t escape this nightmare. She hopes that if she does get a divorce, Clark will still be willing to be a godfather to her son since he’s been such a good influence on him.

She feels like she’s lost herself in this marriage like she’s become someone she doesn’t recognize. She wants to be happy and to have a partner who loves and supports her. She’s tired of feeling alone and like she’s the only one who cares.
