Former President Donald Trump stirred up controversy when he posted a message on Truth Social targeting Jewish people on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Here’s the whole story.

In his message, Trump criticized Jewish voters, alluding to their perceived role in what he characterized as destructive decisions for America and Israel.
Liberal Jews Voted to Destroy America
In his post, Trump wrote, “Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America and Israel because you believed false narratives! Let’s hope you learn from your mistakes and make better choices moving forward! Happy New Year!”
Trump Listed His Actions for the Jewish Community
The former president continued defending his record, saying he had done more for the Jewish community and Israel than any previous president.
Wake up Sheep
Trump listed several actions he took during his tenure, highlighting his support for Israel.
He wrote, “Wake Up Sheep. What Nazi/Anti-Semite ever did this for the Jewish people or Israel?”
Trump Recognized Israel’s Sovereignty
“#1 Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Israel’s true capital. No other president had the balls to do it. #2 Trump recognizes Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. #3 Trump recognizes Israel’s sovereignty over settlements in Judea & Samaria,” he continued.
Trump Signed an Executive Order for Judaism
“#4 Trump signed an executive order for Judaism to be a nationality in addition to a religion so it would fall under the category Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. That act prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs receiving federal financial assistance. Institutions that violate Title VI may lose their federal funding. This means that BDS will have a hard time harassing Jewish students on college campuses,” he added.
The ‘Never Again’ Education Bill
He concluded his post by writing, “#5 May 2020 – Trump Signs the ‘Never Again’ Education bill into law which allocates millions of dollars to expand Holocaust awareness and create websites with curriculum tools for teachers nationwide! Clearly, one of the greatest Anti-Semites of our time! #TRUMP2020 #JEXIT.”
The Criticism
However, Trump’s message received widespread criticism.
One Twitter user wrote, “Can’t say I expected better from someone who, as I see it, sows hate and division. Despicable!”
An Awful Evil Little Man
Another user added “I wish we lived in a time where NOTHING this man said mattered; to anyone, anywhere. He’s an awful, evil little man, whose words somehow have power.”
Trump Creeps Me Out
A third user commented, “Every day, he creeps me out more if that’s possible. He threatens and intimidates people. Mitt Romney said they all detest him in the Senate, but they are afraid for their safety and their families’ safety, so they keep quiet. Come on, that’s insane! He’s a gangster thug.”
Republicans Are Literal Nazis
A fourth user wrote, “I think Trump just out-Nazi’d [Ron] DeSantis, and that’s truly impressive. Republicans are literal Nazis and should be treated as such.”
